INEOS Oxide is a leading European producer of butyl acetates, isopropyl acetate and Glycol Ether Esters.

Acetate esters are produced by the reaction of acetic acid and alcohol, forming the corresponding alcohol ester and water. The ester and water are removed continuously from the reactor by distillation. The ester is than further refined to the required purity. Glycol Ethers Esters are produced on a multi purpose flexible trans-esterification plant fed with Glycol Ethers and Ethyl Acetate.

Applications

Esters are versatile, oxygenated solvents which are primarily used in paints, coatings and inks formulations. They are also widely used in sealants and adhesives, in pharmaceutical applications, in the textile industry, in cleaning formulations and as extraction solvents.
