Ethanolamines (EOA)

World scale capacity, advantageously located in Plaquemine on the Louisiana Gulf coast and Lavéra
at the Mediterranean Sea.
By combining a fifty-year history of reliability and innovation with one of the world’s largest assets of
its type, INEOS Oxide provides its customers with a powerful package of support and commitment in
the field of ethanolamines.

From our most highly refined, low-metal electronic grades, to our
consistently excellent high volume production, we are sharply
focussed on ensuring a leading-edge service, backed by a global
sales and distribution network.
Ethanolamines are produced by reacting ammonia (NH3) with
ethylene oxide.

Applications

Ethanolamines are one of the most versatile members of the EO
derivative family, being bifunctional molecules containing both
amine and alcohol functionality and therefore capable of undergoing
reactions at both groups. Consequently, end-uses are diverse,
including foam boosters and stabilisers for use in detergents and
personal-care products, manufacture of glyphosate herbicides, gas
purification, corrosion inhibitors for metal protection, construction
chemicals, and paper and textile coatings.
