Glycol

European market leader with world-class assets

INEOS Oxide is Europe's leading producer of ethylene glycol (EG) and propylene glycol (PG), with world-class assets and top quartile cost position. With a capacity of 520 ktpa EG and 120 ktpa PG the continuance of our standard-setting performance is ensured.

Glycol is an intermediate chemical, with a global market in excess of thirteen million tpa. Thanks to our proven reliability and consistency, we maintain the leading market position to our prime customer base throughout Europe.

Ethylene glycol is produced by the non-catalytic hydration of ethylene oxide. This process produces three types of glycol: mono-ethylene glycol (MEG), di-ethylene glycol (DEG) and tri-ethylene glycol (TEG).
Propylene glycol is produced by the non-catalytic hydration of propylene oxide. This process produces three types of glycol: mono-propylene glycol (MPG), di-propylene glycol (DPG) and tri-propylene glycol (TPG).
